DispatchLab

A delivery-dispatch strategy simulator with an animated replay of couriers on a road network.

Before you click: DispatchLab is hosted on a free tier that sleeps when idle. A cold start can take up to a minute. It isn't broken — give it a moment.

DispatchLab is a simulator for delivery-dispatch strategies. You set up a scenario — orders, couriers, a road network — and it assigns the work, then shows you what that decision looked like in motion.

The solver

Assignment is modelled as a min-cost assignment problem and solved with Google OR-Tools. Changing the cost function changes the strategy, which is the point of the tool: you can compare how different dispatch policies behave on the same scenario instead of arguing about them in the abstract.

The replay

The results aren't a table. A browser replay UI animates the couriers moving over the road network, so you can watch where a strategy sends people and see the idle time, the backtracking and the clustering that a summary statistic hides.

Open DispatchLab — and expect a slow first load.
